For years, the United States sat on my "one day" list.

Not for want of trying. The US is the hardest financial services market in the world to enter. Every state licenses separately. You do not simply walk in.

So I built everywhere else. Australia. The UAE. The UK. And the US stayed on the horizon.

Then the right partner found me.

About two months ago, Emmanuel Serrano at Monex reached out. His team had followed what we had built at SportsFX. They liked it. And they held the licences. Every US state. Canada. Mexico. Singapore.

After six to eight weeks of compliance, legal, regulatory training and paperwork, it is done.

SportsFX International LLC is now live, in partnership with Monex USA.

For scale, the Monex group transacted $198 billion in foreign exchange in 2025. Monex USA is the US-regulated entity that now sits behind our American work.

I have set up in three regions before this. The US feels different.

It is the largest sports market on earth. The contracts are the biggest. The movement is constant, athletes crossing between the NFL, the NBA, MLS and international leagues, and every move is a currency event.

The currency risk is the least understood part of all of it.

A major currency can move 10 to 20 percent over the life of a contract. The more volatile South American currencies can move up to 40 percent in a single year. On an athlete's salary, that is not a footnote. It is the difference between a good year and a painful one.

And this is a relatively calm year.

The 2026 scoreboard, so far:

  • EUR/AUD has traded roughly 1.62 to 1.76. On a salary of €2 million, the gap between the year's best and worst level is about A$292,000.

  • AUD/USD has run from 0.666 to 0.727.

  • GBP/USD sits near the bottom of its year, around 1.35.

  • Even USD/MXN, the calmest major on the screen at under 6 percent, is one policy decision from waking up.

None of that is dramatic by historical standards. It is seven months of a quiet year. And it still moves six figures on a single contract.

Here is the part I keep coming back to.

I did not force my way into the US. I built something worth finding, and the right partner found it.

SportsFX International LLC. Now open.
